


As you all have heard about the word “YOGA” in your daily life. Before starting my point let me ask you few questions. Do you know What yoga all about in ancient time? If no, let me tell you about it. It mainly refers to traditional originated in India. The word is associated with meditative practices in Hinduism , Buddhism and Jainism.
The major branches of it in Hinduism philosophy include Raja, Karma, Jnana, Bhakti and Hatha yoga. According to Sarvepalli RadhaKrishanam. It is based on the sutra of patanjali. This Sanskrit word has many meanings and derived from the Sanskrit word “Yuj” meaning “To Control “, “to Yoke”, “to Invite”.
It is the name of one of the six orthodox philosophical schools in Hindu philosophy. Its school as expounded by the sage of Patanjali accepts the Samkhya psychology and metaphysics, but it is more theistic than the Samkhya.
Patanjali is widely regarded as the founder of formal philosophy. Which is a system for control of the mind. Its writing also became the basis for system referred to as “Ashtang Yoga” which we will discuss in further articles. Which is also called Eight limbs.
it is use in Bhagwat gita in extensive way. There are prominent types of it:
•Karma Yoga – Action
•Bhakti Yoga – Devotion
•Jnana Yoga – Knowledge
The Another type i.e Hatha Yoga. This System is described by Yogi Swatmarama in 15 centuries. This will focus on the “Hath Karma “the purification of physical body (Ha) and “prana”.
